Chapter Two

Back in the woods, the Big Bad Wolfe left a sweet, long-suffering wife, Matilda, and a
shy, sensitive little son named Wilbur. Bad as Big Bad was, he never for one moment
forgot his little family. After he left, he wrote regularly and promised to send money
as soon as he found work.

Unfortunately, there was no work to be found and no money to be sent.

Nevertheless, Wilbur eagerly awaited his father’s letters, each telling of some new
and exciting adventure. Perhaps Big Bad’s stories were just a bit exaggerated to
impress his wife and little son, but Wilbur was very proud of his father.

Wilbur hoped that one day, when he grew up, he would have adventures just like
                              his dad’s.
